Claimwire

Summary

Claimwire provides workers' compensation forms, laws, and rates through web services (APIs) to all RMIS and claim management software systems.

Company Details

Claimwire provides the following workers' compensation software products:

State Forms API:
Claimwire maintains a library of every state form, for all 50 states - a total of over 4,000 forms. We enhance the forms so they can accept data - that means you can populate (merge) data directly onto the state forms, and never have to re-key data. We keep all the forms up-to-date, so you never have to worry about using an outdated form.

Users can request a list of forms by jurisdiction, category (i.e. First Report, Return to Work, Compensation, etc), or other options. Then the user selects which form they wish to create. Claimwire returns the requested form with all the data populated onto the form - all properly formatted - like the address example I gave you on the phone. The returned file is a PDF file, which can be attached to the claim record, emailed, saved, printed, etc.

We can also add custom forms/letters to our library and populate them with data in the same way we do state forms.

Search API:
Claimwire maintains a library of over 7,000 state laws, policies, and rates (like TTD, PTD, etc). This information is accessible via a pop-up search screen that appears on top of your current claims management system. It's integrated so smoothly into your system, your users assume it's just part of the claim system. You can search any keyword or phrase, for one or more states. For example, you can search for "coverage", or "mileage" for Georgia, Florida, and Alabama at the same time.

We keep all the laws, policies, and rates up-to-date so you can be assured the information you're accessing is accurate and current. We also provide links to the websites where we acquire the information.

Indemnity Rates API:
In addition to being able to search for rates as mentioned above, we are currently developing an API so we can deliver those to our customers in a way that they can add them to indemnity rate calculations. As I mentioned on the phone, this includes not only the rate itself, but also the effective dates, and any variables the state uses to calculate rates. For example, in Georgia, an injury is defined as catastrophic if there is severe paralysis, amputation of an arm, leg, hand, or foot, if there is a severe brain injury, and a few other variables. We have detailed information like that for all jurisdictions.

We anticipate this API being available before the end of the year.

Compliance API:
Finally, I'll mention another API we are developing is our Compliance API. This will allow our customers to take a pro-active approach to generating state forms. The Compliance API will monitor claim data, and events related to claims (such as dates, payments made, etc), and we will alert the adjuster when a state form needs to be filed.

For example, NC has form 28, "Return to Work Report", which needs to be filed when the claimant has returned to work. As Claimwire monitors the data and sees a date entered into the Return to Work date field, we will notify the adjuster that Form 28 may need to be filed. We also remind the adjuster that a copy needs to be sent via email to the state (to forms@ic.nc.gov), and a copy needs to be mailed to the claimant, and attorney of record if applicable.

ClaimCompass
ClaimCompass is an on-line portal for reporting the First Report of Injury for all 50 states. Data-entry is fast and easy, and is based on each state's FROI. Data can be sent to any claim system via email or SFTP. An exact copy of each state's First Report of Injury for is produced for the user in a PDF format.
